With the many, many stories of God’s provision and goodness you would think we always walk in complete faith. I would love to say that is true but remember, once Peter managed to take a new step on the ways he then had to do it again. Truth is, from time-to-time things are tight, money is scarce and faith is stretched thin. After my trip to Thailand we have been in one such situation. I was working to rebuild my faith, wanting to give to some other missionaries and not sure how we would even pay our bills. God has ALWAYS come through and I was reminding myself of this. “To date Justin, God has not let anything go unpaid or late. Just trust Him.”
I had some bills due on Monday and I wasn’t sure where the money would come from. I knew I would get a check on Tuesday from some contract work I did but that would be a day late for one of my bills. After my prayer time I received a message from our missions organization regarding a new donation for $2,115. Against conventional missions support raising wisdom, the Holy Spirit had told us to stop asking for amounts to reach a goal and start trusting in Him as our provider. I will say we are NO WHERE NEAR what our monthly goal is for partnership but, God has always brought in one-time donations at a time when the need existed.
I want to thank this partner and all the partners who have listened to the Lord when he asked you to give to someone. I think we often times begin rationalizing our giving until we have found something else to do with the money. But, I cannot express what obedience like this new partner does for the faith of a missionary like myself. Thank you for loving God! Thank you for listening! Thank you for obeying! My faith has grown today.
