I’m long winded at times so let me try to keep this short. Rather than give you our life story with great details on how good our Father is (which could go on-and-on) I’ll cut to the chase.
Wendy and I have been married for nearly 18 years. We married on my 19th birthday (she is a tad older but we’ll keep that a secret) based on some amazing confirmations from God that we should. We received quite a bit of heartache from certain folks about being married too young but God knew what he was doing and we’re thankful he did. In our first 9 years of marriage we had four kids, Ethan (15), Hanan(13), Josiah (12), and Kaitlin (8). Yes, Kaitlin is our only girl and an answer to prayer. She is, by the way, treasured and protected very well by the men in her life.
We have been involved in a number of church plants and a number of church closures. I can’t explain it other than to say we know exactly what it would take to start, grow and run a successful church. But, in 2014 God took hold of me and a spiritual awakening (or as I like to call it a “religious excavation”) started. God led us on a journey or remembrance causing us to review our years in ministry serving in every capacity within the church. He had us review every belief to make sure we knew where we stood according to His word. In May of 2015 the Lord asked us to step down from church leadership and cease attending for a minimum of 6 months. His words were, “You know a great deal about doing church. Now I want your family to focus on being the church.” So, in July of 2016 we stepped down and out. There is a lot more to this story but let’s jump to the now.
In January 2016 Justin left full-time work so our family could focus attention on the work of the kingdom. Today, we still live in Murfreesboro, TN but we travel a lot. We are open to the call of God and where he is taking us and he is speaking to us on what that looks like long-term. For now, our heart and ministry can be summed up in several key verses.
VISION
Matthew 24:14 – We want to see Christ return and he does so when the whole world hears the good news.
PLAN
Luke 10:1-11 & Matt 28:18-20 – We go to the people, love them, gather with them, proclaim his kingdom and teach them to obey all he commanded.
PROCESS
Luke 6:47-48 – We want to build strong foundations in Christ by starting with Jesus’ simplest commands as a strong foundation and building up from there.
Both our U.S and International methods revolve around the Commands of Christ as utilized and taught by George Patterson. Contexts are changed slightly to meet the cultures we deal with but the foundations and heart are the same. Keep it simple and reproducible, just like Jesus.
In the U.S. we spend time on college campuses, bars, nightclubs, and dark places that need the light using DiscipleX materials and methods. Our goal is to start Christ-centered movements and empower them to take off on their own. We see Jesus did this and our life’s goal is to be like him. Outside the U.S. we work in Asia with Global Catalytic Network doing the same process in a different context. We go into villages, meet with key leaders in the villages, heal the sick, cast out demons and proclaim the kingdom.
Our family is moving more and more into a full-time ministry calling and would love for you to partner with us. If you or someone you know has been blessed through our ministry then please consider partnering with us to keep things going.
If you would like to learn more about our journey, have questions or comments, or would like to meet and discuss partnership feel free to contact us.
